Wilderness Trails Lodge

Situated in the wildlife-rich Eastern corner of the Conservancy is the Craig family home, Wilderness Trails, where guests have been entertained in luxury for the past 30 years. Will and Emma Craig offer an intimate family atmosphere where a maximum of 16 guests are housed in 8 beautifully decorated cottages, featuring fireplaces and verandas. Guests can relax by the fire in Will and Emma’s cozy sitting room and share meals around a long banquet table in the open-air dining room. Natural springs, home-raised livestock, and a 5-acre organic garden are transformed by skilled chefs into healthy and delicious fare.

The salt-water pool is refreshing, the stables are full of horses for guests to ride, and the clay tennis court comes equipped with both racquets and balls. A professional guiding team leads guests on customized daily safaris and educates them about flora, fauna, animal behavior, conservation, Lewa history, and more.

Wilderness Trails is an all inclusive experience (room, full board, wine/beer, all activities). Activities available at Wilderness Trails include:
Day and Night Game Drives
Bush Walks with a professional tracker
Horse Rides
Camel Rides
Game Blinds
Visiting Orphaned Animals
Hiking/Jogging with a Maasai warrior
Visiting Lewa’s ancient archaeological site
Visiting a Maasai cultural boma

Other excursions that can be arranged at an additional charge include: Guided tour by air of the Conservancy and Mt. Kenya with a stop for trout fishing in a high-altitude lake, and 5-Day walking safaris through Lewa and nearby Il Ngwesi
