  SPEND FOUR DAYS ON A 55,000 ACRE WILDLIFE SANCTUARY IN THE LAPIKIA REGION IN KENYA. YOUR STAY HERE WILL BE AT WILDERNESS TRAILS, A SMALL LUXURY LODGE WITH STABLE OF HORSES FOR RIDING SAFARIS. ACCOMMODATIONS ARE IN ONE OF THE EIGHT CHARMING LUXURY STONE GUEST COTTAGES AND YOUR HOSTS, THE CRAIG FAMILY, ARE FAMOUS FOR THEIR HOSPITALITY AND WONDERFUL FOOD.

 
DAY 1 - NAIROBI / LEWA WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY  
Today you will be met and transferred to Wilson Field to catch the 10:20am am scheduled flight to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy arriving at 11:30am. Here you’ll be met by a Lewa vehicle and transferred to Wilderness Trails, getting your first glimpse of the wildlife on the way. The non-profit Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a 45,000 acre private ranch, that encompasses the Ngare Sergoi Rhino Sanctuary. The ranch has belonged to the Craig family since 1924. There is abundant wildlife, including the big five and Kenya’s northern species of game which includes: reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra and other wildlife seldom found south of the equator. Enjoy night game drives, horseback riding, camel safaris, village visits, and wildlife walks escorted by Maasai trackers.

Wilderness trails is set in the north east corner of the reserve, and only accommodates a maximum of 16 guests in its 8 luxury cottages. Guests can relax by the fire in Will and Emma’s cozy living room and share meals around a long banquet table in the open-air dining room. Natural springs, home-raised livestock, and a 5-acre organic garden are transformed by skilled chefs into wonderful meals. Wilderness also has a salt-water pool, stables full of horses and a clay tennis court.

After checking in to your cottage and enjoying lunch, you’ll have time to relax and take a swim. Enjoy afternoon tea, and then it’s time to be introduced to the horses before setting out on a late afternoon ride. Your first ride will last for two hours until sunset, then its time to stop for a sundowner in the middle of the bush before enjoying a short game drive by vehicle, back to camp in time for dinner (horses will be taken home before dark).

DAY 2 - LEWA WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY  
Rise early and depart for a morning ride with breakfast in the bush in a wonderful location by natural springs or with wide open plains beneath the shade of the acacia trees. After breakfast, ride back to Wilderness Trails by a different route. Then its lunch at Wilderness Trails with time to relax before departing on an afternoon game walk with a camp guide. You may also visit the wool carpet and furniture workshops. In the early evening you’ll have another ride for two hours or longer, it ‘s up to you!

DAY 3 - LEWA WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY  
Today you can spend more time horseback riding or you may want to try a new form of locomotion – on top of a camel. Wildlife viewing in a 4 WD vehicle is also an option. You will have lunch at the lodge with the afternoon free to relax and enjoy the scenes and sounds of your surroundings. This afternoon take a ride or walk, returning in time for sundowners on the verandah before dinner.

DAY 4 - LEWA WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY / NAIROBI  
Enjoy a final breakfast and say goodbye to your mount before being driven to the airstrip where you will board the 11:45am fight to Nairobi (or elsewhere), arriving at 1:20pm. When you arrive you will be met and driven to your hotel or to the International airport.
