- NAIROBI

Arrive into Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport today. After clearing customs you will be met and transferred to the famous Norfolk Hotel. Dating from Kenya's colonial days, the Norfolk is a landmark in Nairobi. The hotel is rich in history, enhanced by up-to-the-minute facilities and amenities including a heated swimming pool, health club salon, and several restaurants. The Norfolk is located in downtown Nairobi opposite the National Theater.

| DAY 2
- LAIKIPIA PLATEAU - OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

After breakfast at your hotel you will be met by your private guide and depart by road in your 4x4 Safari vehicle for a scenic drive to the Laikipia Plateau. Driving north you will pass Kenya’s famous tea plantations and a patchwork of Kikuuyu farms on the way to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The conservancy is now the largest rhino sanctuary outside of South Africa, situated on nearly 100,000 acres on the equator, in Kenya’s Laikipia region. Ol Pejeta has the highest ratio of game-to-area of any park or reserve in Kenya. Rare species of wildlife include black and white rhino, the extremely rare Grevy’s zebra, and Jackson’s Hartebeest, along with lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo, cheetah, leopard and plains wildlife, all in full view of Mount Kenya.
You accommodations for the next three nights will be in one of the 6 twin bedded tents. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with a flush loo and bush shower with hot water on demand.
After checking in, enjoy lunch and after some time to get acquainted with your surroundings and some time to relax – depart on a game viewing activity in the conservancy.

| DAYS 3/4

You have two more days of exciting wildlife viewing activities on day and night game drives, guided wildlife walks on the open plains and along the river, visits to the Morani Information Centre and the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, visits to local community projects such as schools and Rhino tracking with the Ol Pejeta rangers (maximum 2 guests per patrol).

| DAY 5
- LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

This morning after breakfast, you depart with your guide, driving down into the Great Rift Valley, on your way to Lion Hill Lodge. The Lion Hill Lodge offers splendid views out over the lake and the Rift Valley. After lunch at the lodge and perhaps time for a swim in the pool, you’ll depart on an afternoon game drive in the park. Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for its flocks of flamingoes, at time numbering in the millions. The Park has a rhino sanctuary and it also contains many leopards in addition to fantastic bird life and the usual plains game.

| DAY 6
- LAKE NAKURU - HELL’S GATE

This morning after breakfast you’ll leave the Lake Nakuru area and continue to Hell’s Gate, a spectacular area of gorges, natural hot geysers and the two extinct volcanoes: Olkaria and Hobley. A haven for ornithologists and rock climbers, the cliffs of Hell’s Gate are breeding grounds for Verreaux’s Eagles, vulture and thousands of swifts. You’ll have a chance to do some walking in the area before departing for Lake Naivasha. Enjoy lunch at the Lake Naivasha Country Club and take a boat-ride on the Lake for some up-close hippo viewing before returning to your lodge in the late afternoon. Enjoy a drink on the terrace a sunset.

| DAY 7
- MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

After an early breakfast, depart by road across the Rift Valley escarpment to the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve, the jewel of Kenya's game reserves. Located in the northern section of the great Serengeti Plains, it has one of the highest concentrations of wildlife anywhere in Africa. The reserve is the home of the "Big Five" ... elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino, as well as cheetah, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, hippo, impala, gazelle and numerous other wildlife, including hundreds of species of birds. During August to October, the Mara is the scene of annual migration of millions of wildebeest up from the Serengeti plains in search of water and grasses.
Your home for the next three nights will be at the secluded Sekenani Camp. This wonderful luxury permanent tented camp is situated on the north-eastern boundary of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, at source of the Sekenani river. There are 15 luxury guest tents, with thatch roofs and full en-suite bathrooms including brass tapped bathtubs. Built off the ground on wooden platforms, you can view the hills & Mara plains beyond from your private verandah. The tents are connected by a suspended bridge to the dinning room and bar. The camp is operated in cooperation with local Maasai tribes and is the logistical center for a community development project. Local Maasai trackers will also escort you on guided walks.
After getting settled in, enjoy lunch and some time to relax. In the afternoon depart on your first game drive in the Mara. Return to camp in time to freshen up and enjoy a sundowner around the campfire before dinner.

| DAYS 8/9

You have two more days for multiple or all day game drives – it’s up to you and your guide and the movement of the animals. You may also want to take a walk in the hills escorted by Maasai guides who demonstrate their extensive knowledge of plants and animals while surrounded by spectacular landscapes in every direction.

| DAY 10
- MAASAI MARA / NAIROBI - DEPART

Arise early this morning on a sunrise game drive and a bush breakfast. Afterwards depart for the airstrip, before bidding your guide farewell and boarding the scheduled flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred back to the Norfolk Hotel where you will have the use of a dayroom until your evening transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
